Bracken Paving

September 29th, 2006

I have been working with Bracken Paving over the last 4 months developing a series of 6 commercials to help communicate their new slogan: “You are more than just a driveway to us.” This is the first of 6 commercials total.

They wanted to communicate that the company values people while at the same communicating a look that is consistent with their strong brand identity.

Study: 107 million people viewed online video in July

September 28th, 2006

I read this article today in USA today about online videos.

Here are the stats for the month of July according to the article, 107 million people streamed or downloaded nearly 7.2 billion video clips — an average of 67 apiece.

With stats like these no wonder folks like AOL are stepping in. Once again, I say see ya later to broadcast TV. It’s only a matter of time.

Interesting though that some are still connecting narrowcasting with cable television.

September 20th, 2006

Bracken Paving located here in the Tri-Cities has developed a program called Court for Kids. Through the program Bracken Paving builds a basketball court for the use of a non-profit organization working with children. The first court built was for Pathfinders a youth development organization.

This video was for a recent Kingsport Chamber of Commerce event held at Bracken Paving to highlight the program.

Ready to Launch,

Launch. Not hop, skip, or even jump. Launch has no defined landing point nor does it even make suggestion of a landing.

Ready to Launch is the name of the brochure I just completed for Grace Fellowship Church. They are using this brochure to promote their children’s ministry. As the seeds are blown from a dandelion who knows their journey, but they are certain to travel and experience their own unique adventure through God’s creation. Likewise children are at a launching point in their lives. What a journey they have ahead of them, school, friends, dates, graduation, college, job, family.

I thought it quite appropriate that this was my last major production work while at Grace Fellowship Church. As of September 1st. I decided to launch as well.

My journey has lead me to the helm of Digital-Fridge as owner, producer, creative director, coffee maker and floor sweeper.

I have launched and don’t plan on landing. Looking forward to the journey!

Johnny Zero Story

September 11th, 2006

Below is a news story from the local media on the My Johnny Zero project that I had a blast shooting and editing this summer. It has been fun to see the varied responses to this project on campus and around the city. I congratulate the WELL for taking advantage of the new media tools available such as google video and .mac in order to communicate to their audience.
