Last week I went to the monthly GeekSouth meeting (yea go ahead and laugh) but everytime I go someone is telling me about something cool. This time Jeff Rainey told me about GoodWidgets. It is a free app. that lets you import photos from flickr and then embed code into your blog for a supercool photo gallery. The gallery below took about 60 seconds to setup.

For seven years copies of Marquee’s annual Sexy, Successful Singles issue have flown off the newsstands and out of the magazine advertisers’ hands.

Now, for the first time-ever Marquee will be going live with video of its Sexy, Successful Singles talking about the Mountain South region. “We’ll be launching this blog with a behind-the- scenes look at the making of the video and you’ll have a chance to begin meeting the Singles (via video) starting Thursday, January 18th,” says Executive Editor Mary Ellen Miller.

“You can hear from these dynamic, smart, savvy and community-minded folks as they chat online about life in our region and perhaps some of the interesting things about being single in our region.”

The blog and video will run as a six week “beta test.” With weekly updates to the video.
“Should our readers, respond well, we foresee many more opportunities to celebrate our Mountain South region….live and on the web,” says Miller.

Meadowview Convention Center will be celebrating their 10th Anniversary this month. Here is a video that I just completed that will be used during their celebration.

With multiple pieces of media being used to represent your brand it can be difficult to keep a consistent look. Here is a piece that I have been working on for author Steven James that was designed to have a consistent look and feel with his website and video. The next piece to design will be a traveling 7ft banner.

So what is the best way to keep consistency in your design? Think of your brand/look/business as a car and your media pieces work together like tires supporting the car. When I go to get new tires for my car I usually buy 4 at a time. I wouldn’t go and get 4 tires 6 months apart. Hey I am no grease monkey and I know this is a stretch for an anology, but it makes sense.
