Persistant and Imaginative

Danny Glover

Camera

I just got back from running an IMAG camera for an event at ETSU featuring Danny Glover and Felix Justice. The two of them presented “An Evening with Martin & Langston” which features Justice portraying Dr. Martin Luther King and then Glover reciting poetry from Langton Hughes.

At the end Glover was asked what words of wisdom do you have for young filmmakers. His advice was to be persistant and imaginitive in your storytelling and to tell stories that have cultural value. These are words I hope to accomplish in what I do.

Notice Glovers shirt in the shot. It took several sways of his jacket to catch the whole thing, but I finally saw what it says. It is an ad for The Real News.com which is a publicly funded/non profit, news website/channel with no advertising. I will be interested in seeing how this takes off.

Thinking Outside the Box

March 27th, 2007

This is a shot from a project that I was working on in AZ. How would you like working in an environment like this? I’m guessing it might be a challenge to think outside the box and be creative at this company. BTW this is just 1/3 of the number of cubicles going in.

Livin’ It Up on the West Side

March 21st, 2007

Here is a pic for all those back in TN. A little sun, a little fun, and a whole lotta work going on this week out on the west coast. This is a pic from this morning at the hotel. Notice the hotel is not in the shot, it’s not worth taking a picture of trust me.

The Pawn Trailer

March 18th, 2007

This is a video that I just finished up for Revell books. A very fun project. I hope to be able to do some more like this in the future. I like how the sound effects help tell the story just as much as the visuals on this one.

Hello Dolly!

March 3rd, 2007

So what does a geek do for a weekend project? Well I decided to build a dolly for my video camera. After doing some research I realized I could save some big bucks by building it myself. How hard could it be after all? Well after multiple trips to Lowe’s and Home Depot the project is finished. Here are a few shots that I got after setting up the dolly in our kitchen. I especially like the reflection of my gut in the microwave. I will be posting pictures of the dolly and a parts list within the next couple of days.
