I Knew Connor Berge When…

July 23rd, 2007

Last week I was in Colorado shooting for Baker Publishing and had the opportunity to meet Connor Berge. My guess is you don’t have any idea who Connor Berge is, but trust me you will.

He is a normal 15 year old kid who happens to love all things geek. At the top of his list is video production. He showed up on location where we were shooting. We talked for a few minutes and he said he had a few videos on youtube. In the back of my head I was thinking great another cat chasing a laser pointer or something like that. But he said the his video was featured on youtube last month, and his mom told me that Inside Edition called to get permission to show Connor’s video on an upcoming episode. My suspicion as well as my expectations for the video began to grow.

I wasn’t able to watch the video until I returned home this weekend. So I checked it out and now I know why all the hype. With his “One Man Band” video nearing 900,000 views he is becoming a legend on youtube.

I’m Sold

July 11th, 2007

So a couple of weeks ago I decided to purchase a camera crane. I think it might be one of the coolest toys, i mean tools in the arsenal now. I did a lot of research before making the big purchase and I decided to go with the Kessler KC-8 crane. I’m sold on it. I really believe it is the best one built for the price. It only took a few minutes to get it setup right out of the box. I will be using it on a shoot this Friday for the first time and can’t wait. I will be sure to post some footage.

Rogersville 4th of July with John Michael Montgomery

July 9th, 2007

I spent this past 4th of July in Rogersville, TN. This town is the definition of “Small Town America” from it’s historic downtown with homes lined with white picket fences to the peaceful city park. I thought for sure I was going to see Andy Griffith while I was there. Anyway, it is a super nice town that knows how to celebrate on the 4th of July. The day started with a 4K roadrace, and continued with a 3 on 3 Bball tournament, food vendors, kids games, and music highlighted by John Michael Montgomery. For now here is a clip of the Fireworks, I’ll be posting more clips soon.
